I heard WoodGrain had gluten free crusts and wanted to check it out.. Having celiac disease I am always a little nervous at pizza places in general, but have had good experiences at similar woodfired pizza places. When I steped up to the counter and asked for the gluten free crust, I was informed they do those in the back. I thought that was a good sign since it is less likely to experience cross contamination so I asked some additional questions like it going on a seperate pan in the oven and was told they do. After prepping the pizza, he went to put it in the oven and wasn’t putting it on a seperate pan. I reminded him again about the pan, and this time he said no it doesn’t go on a pan, just straight into the oven. I explained how it can’t share the same surface with the other pizzas with the regular crust. The manager came over and I explained again. He said they can’t do a pan in the oven because it is too hot. I mentioned that other similar pizza places do that and that I was told they would before I even ordered. He mentioned how they have a disclaimer, and I explained that I realize it isn’t a gluten free kitchen, but certain precautions still need to be taken. He told me then I shouldn’t eat there. So I didn’t.
I wish the person I talked to at the beginning had informed me right away, that way we could have gone somewhere else before the rest of my friends pizza’s were already bought and paid for. Instead I had to sit at a table with my friends who all had pizza, and I had nothing. I was veery dissapointed at the Manager’s rudeness. If you have Celaic disease or gluten intolorance do NOT eat here.

My brother told me that I tend to only review restaurants where I have good experiences and rate them high. So I thought I needed to add a review of a place I would not recommend. It was bad that I didn’t end up eating there and therefor have no pictures. Instead I’ll icluding a picture of our dog, Buckley.
Buckley is not impressed with Woodgrain Pizza
