When I can, I like to make things from scratch, like pasta sauce. There are many times I am lazy or short on time and just buy jarred sauce. But this is a really easy recipe that doesn’t have to simmer forever. We serve it over pasta, zucchini noodles, or spaghetti squash.
Easy Marinara Sauce with Meat

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 small can tomato paste
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1-2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp fround pepper
- 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup white wine
- 5-10 basil leaves, chiffonade
Instructions
- Brown meat with onions.
- In food processor, blend canned tomatoes, tomato paste, garlic, parsley, oregano, salt and pepper.
- Once meat and onions have browned, add tomato mixture, wine, and chopped fresh tomatoes. Cover and simmer for 20 -30 min. Stir in basil and serve over pasta, zucchini noodles, or spaghetti squash.
