A couple weeks ago we went to BellyQ with some friends for dinner. It is an Asian BBQ place on Randolph that I had read had many gluten free options. Our server was great and when I explained I had celiac disease he walked me through the gluten free choices and what other items could be made gluten free. He also said he would alert the kitchen to make our dishes seperate. There were many GF options and we all shared several dishes. Luckly for me,Bill and our friends were very accomodating and agreed to order mostly gluten free options.
All the dishes were good, but my favorite dish (and the consensus of the table) was the slow Roasted Pork Butt. It practically melted in your mouth. The sides I had were also great. The 2 items with gluten that the rest of the table had I’m told were also good. I’m very thankful to our great server who was clearly well trained and was very patient with all of my questions. Along with the food he made it a great (and safe for me) esperience.
We ended up sitting at a grill table, which is kind of a cool concept. You pick several meats and sides and is grilled right at your table. It seems like a great thing to try sometime, however I would have to go with a group that would be willing to only do gluten free items so we could all use the same grill.
Also, we had no problems getting in because we were kind of early and had reservations, but I would suggest making reservations because I’ve heard that there can be a long wait.
